This information helps track how well residents can afford basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare as well as relative prosperity compared to other areas.

Median Household Income

In Williamson County, the median household income increased steadily from 2014 to 2024, as shown in Figure 1, except for a slight decline in 2020. Williamson County’s median income has consistently exceeded the national median and this gap has widened from roughly $20K in 2014 to more than $30K over the national median in 2024.

Figure 2 illustrates the overall growth in median household income between 2014 and 2024. Income in Williamson County grew 55.3% over the ten-year period, outpacing the nation’s growth of 52.1%. This corroborates the findings in Figure 1, since the gap between the national median income and Williamson County’s median income has increasingly widened over the same time period.

Figure 3 shows that Williamson County households are generally skewed toward higher income levels, with the largest group earning above $200K and the second largest group earning just below that ($150-$199K). There is also a notable peak for the $75-$99K range, which includes the national median income level. Based on previous years of data, the concentration of households in higher income ranges has increased notably in the past five years, and is a large part of what has contributed to the overall increase in median household income for the County.
